Panadol Cold & Flu Day product details

  • Ingredients

    Tablet core: Pregelatinized starch, maize starch, povidone, potassium sorbate, sodium lauryl sulphate, sunset yellow (E110), stearic acid, talc, microcrystalline cellulose.

    Film Coat: Hypromellose, Macrogol 400, Titanium Dioxide, Sunset Yellow Aluminium Lake (E110) and Quinoline Yellow Lake (E104). Excipients with known effects: Sodium 0.06 mg (as sodium lauryl sulphate) Sunset Yellow 0.4 mg (E110)

    Paracetamol 500mg Caffeine 25mg Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5mg

  • Directions

    Always follow the label directions.

    For adults and children aged 12 years and older, take 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours as required, with a maximum daily dose of 8 tablets within 24 hours.

    Not recommended for children under the age of 12 and should not be taken for more than 7 days without medical advice.1

  • Warnings & Precautions

    Contains paracetamol. Do not use with any other products containing paracetamol. The concomitant use with other products containing paracetamol may lead to an overdose. Paracetamol overdose may cause liver failure, which may require liver transplant or lead to death.

    Cases of hepatic dysfunction/failure have been reported in patients with depleted glutathione levels, such as those who are severely malnourished, anorexic, have a low body mass index, or are chronic heavy users of alcohol.

    Medical advice should be sought before using this product in patients with these conditions:

    • Hepatic or renal impairment. Underlying liver disease increases the risk of paracetamol-related liver damage
    • Glutathione-depleted states, as the use of paracetamol may increase the risk of metabolic acidosis
    • Hypertension
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Diabetes
    • Hyperthyroidism
    • Angle closure glaucoma
    • Phaeochromocytoma
    • An enlargement of the prostate gland
    • Occlusive vascular disease (e.g. Raynaud’s phenomenon)

    Use with caution in patients taking the following medications:

    • beta-blockers and other antihypertensives.
    • tricyclic antidepressants.
    • other sympathomimetics (such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like medicines)

    Excessive intake of caffeine (e.g. coffee, tea and some canned drinks) should be avoided while taking this product.

    Keep out of sight and reach of children.1
