Sore Throat
A sore throat, also known as pharyngitis, is a common symptom of both colds and the flu.1,2 If due to a viral infection such as the flu, symptoms tend to be more severe and develop much more quickly.3
A sore throat may be associated with pain due to the body’s immune response to infection,4 causing the tissues of the pharynx to become inflamed.3
Although there is no cure for the flu itself, symptoms such as a sore throat can be managed with appropriate therapies.
